Sleepy Eye Housing Authority


Ross Park Apartments feature a Public Housing rent subsidy program through the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development.  Income-based rents are computed at 30% of adjusted gross income, with consideration of out-of-pocket medical expenses for those who are disabled or over age 62.  Flat rents have also been established, based on the Fair Market Rents for Brown County, MN.


Electricity, heat, water, trash removal and recycling are utilities that are included with the rent. 

Additional fees are charged for the following:

  • Satellite TV
  • Laundry machines
  • Storage lockers
  • Seasonal air conditioning
  • Outdoor electrical outlets for vehicles
  • Extra freezers/refrigerators


A Security Deposit of $250.00 for a 1 BR apartment or $350.00 for a 2 BR apartment is required at the time of occupancy. 


To qualify for residency at Ross Park Apartments, you must:

  1. Be at least 62 years of age, or
  2. Be 18 years of age and qualify as a disabled/handicapped individual as defined by the Social Security Act, or
  3. Be income-eligible and meet HUD income limits that are established annually; while also meeting the HUD-specified Community Service requirement.
